  • How do I find the right Martial Arts school?

First, understand that not all martial arts schools are the same. You should identify what you would like to gain from your training.

    • Physical Fitness
    • Spiritual Connection to Your Body
    • Self Defense
    • Stress Relief
    • Confidence
    • Mental Challenge
    • Flexibility
    • A Personal Goal

Once you know what you are looking to gain, you should know a little about the style of martial arts that will suit your needs.

    • Kung fu: fighting/forms with animal movements.
    • Tai Chi: gaining power through inner peace.
    • Judo: Throwing / leverage style.
    • Karate: Empty handed combat style.
    • Aikido: Using your opponent’s energy against them.
    • Jujitsu: The gentle art of manipulation.
    • Tae Kwon Do: The art of kicking and punching. Known as the most popular style in the world today
  • What should I expect from myself as a student?

Your mental approach to class will have a large impact on you as a martial artist. A student with a negative approach tends to “second guess” why the instructor requires a specific drill. This attitude becomes an obstacle that may cause a student to become frustrated or to put only a small percentage of power into his/her techniques.

A positive student will follow his/her instructor proudly, focused on self-improvement and mental growth. The trust the student should have is the belief that the instructor shares the same goal as the student.

  • How old does my child have to be to take class?

We offer “Pee-Wee” classes for toddlers, starting at age three. The age at which your child can begin black belt credit classes will depend on his or her level of ability. Usually kids do not start in the regular children’s program until five-years-old.

  • Can you be too old to take martial arts classes?

There is no age that is too old to train. This being said, we do advise students to consult a doctor before starting training if concerned about health risks. The instructors will also be able to help you more with this topic when you come in for your first class.

  • Do you offer classes for learning impaired/disabled children?

We currently do not offer any special group classes for learning disabled children. If your child has ADD or AD/HD, our regular classes can be the perfect thing to help him or her get focused.

We can offer private lessons for learning disabled children,
but a situation-specific prognosis must be discussed with our instructors.
We are currently not able to accommodate severely disabled children.

  • What are your prices?

To find out more information on our prices we urge you to try out a free class. This will give you the chance to evaluate our instructors, the facility, and the quality of our classes. We offer a number of different membership options and our professional staff will help you find the one that works the best for you.

  • What types of martial arts classes do you offer?

For students of all ages, who are beginners, we offer traditional martial arts classes. Once the student has accomplished a more advanced level of training we incorporate weapons and techniques from a variety of different styles.

For teens/adults and juniors, ages 8 and up, we also offer mixed martial arts. Please contact us for more information on these classes.
