Board breaking allows students to expand their training by testing techniques on a simulated opponent. The theory being\, good technique will break a board.  \nBoards may be ordered through Kickside in bundles of 25 through the Hillsborough KickShop | Montogmery KickShop or purchased at a local lumber yard. Details on sizes\, grain direction and other breaking tips are available on the board breaking page. \nAny boards ordered through the KickShop will be made available on the first day of breaking week\, at the location from which you ordered.  \nNote: Brown belts and above will need to bring boards for breaking at the October testing. Please factor this in when buying boards. \n**Do not put boards in your gear bag because they will damage it. Instead\, bring them in a less expensive shopping bag**

DESCRIPTION:Green belts and up (all ranks Adult/Teen class) will be breaking boards in classes September 27 – October 2\, 2021. Board breaking allows students to expand their training by testing techniques on a simulated opponent. The theory being\, good technique will break a board.  \nBoards may be ordered through Kickside in bundles of 25 through the Hillsborough KickShop | Montogmery KickShop or purchased at a local lumber yard. Details on sizes\, grain direction and other breaking week tips are available on the board breaking page. \nBoard pre-order discount pricing is available through September 22nd. A limited number of stock stacks will be made available for purchase during breaking wee. Any boards ordered through the KickShop will be made available on the first day of breaking week\, at the location from which you ordered.  \nNote: Brown belts and above will need to bring boards for breaking at the October testing. Please factor this in when buying boards. \n**Do not put boards in your gear bag. Doing so will damage the bag.**

In the event of inclement weather\, we will rotate indoors.\nThere will be no Zoom classes on 6/19 due to instructor presence at testing. \nLocation: Kickside of Montgomery (1225 State Rd\, Princeton\, NJ) \nTESTING TIMES \n\n\n\nTesting Group\nStart Time\n\n\nSr. Red/2nd Dan Black Belt Candidates\n7:30 am\n\n\nProbationary and Decided Black Belts\n8:00 am\n\n\nBrown – Red Belts \n11:00 am\n\n\nWhite – Sr. Blue Belts\n12:00 pm\n\n\n\nTesting times and applications are for your current rank\, not the new one. \nColored belt testing application (for White – Sr. Red Belts)\nBlack belt testing application (for all Black Belt ranks) \nTesting Procedures/Precautions: \n\nGreen belts and above must bring sparring gear to the test\nBrown belts and above must bring boards for breaking\, and get breaks approved by their chief instructor prior to the test.\nIf we believe health is compromised in any way\, student will be excused from test\n\nA list of eligible students for this testing will be posted in the lobby and shared on Zoom. Please find your/your child’s name on the list and fill out a testing application. Brown belts and above need to list their board breaks at the bottom (and get those breaks approved by an instructor when turning in the application). If you need a different belt size than the one listed\, please let us know ASAP. \nStudents are required to know their belt information\, earn necessary stripes\, and attend the required minimum number of classes for their level. Contact us to schedule. \nSPARRING EQUIPMENT ORDER FORM\nAll Sr. Yellow Belts must also turn in a Sparring Equipment order form by June 4th. All sparring gear must be ordered through Kickside Martial Arts. Due to minimum order requirements\, students who miss the ordering deadline may need to wait until October to receive gear that we do not already have in stock. \nBLACK BELT PACK: (embroidered heavy-weight uniform\, black gear\, bag and weapons) \nSave 20% on black belt pack orders completed before Primary Testing (due date June 3rd). Due to required order minimums with our vendors\, we are unable to extend discounts for single orders that come after this deadline. Regular pricing will apply for students who order after their testing date. To avoid additional shipping fees\, students may wait until the next group order is placed on or around September 15th.  \nBOARD BREAKING: Brown Belts and above must supply their own boards for testing. It is recommended that you bring extra boards in case one breaks during set-up. Breaks must be approved prior to test and written in on student’s testing application.
