SUMMARY:Breaking Week: September 27 – October 2\, 2021
DESCRIPTION:Green belts and up (all ranks Adult/Teen class) will be breaking boards in classes September 27 – October 2\, 2021. Board breaking allows students to expand their training by testing techniques on a simulated opponent. The theory being\, good technique will break a board.  \nBoards may be ordered through Kickside in bundles of 25 through the Hillsborough KickShop | Montogmery KickShop or purchased at a local lumber yard. Details on sizes\, grain direction and other breaking week tips are available on the board breaking page. \nBoard pre-order discount pricing is available through September 22nd. A limited number of stock stacks will be made available for purchase during breaking wee. Any boards ordered through the KickShop will be made available on the first day of breaking week\, at the location from which you ordered.  \nNote: Brown belts and above will need to bring boards for breaking at the October testing. Please factor this in when buying boards. \n**Do not put boards in your gear bag. Doing so will damage the bag.**

SUMMARY:Two-Day Review for Black Belt Candidates - at your location
DESCRIPTION:Students should attend the review held in their “home” location.\nMontgomery: 6:45 pm\nHillsborough: 7:00 pm\n(Duration is dependent on quantity of students in attendance as well as their preparedness. Students may request an early arrival time to complete their written belt knowledge test. Please speak to your chief instructor.)\n \n\nWritten Belt Info Test will be administered\nTournament List to be Submitted\nBlack Belt Essay Due\nSr. Red Belt testing guidelines/requirements are available here\n\n \n\nSr. Red Belts must have 40 class credits and successfully demonstrate 90% of the forms to earn their first\, eligibility stripe. The eligibility stripe is earned one testing cycle ahead of a student’s black belt testing. Candidates for June testing will already have this stripe. \n \nBlack Belt Pack orders must be completed on the KickShop no later than September 30\, in order to receive discount and get items by rank ceremony. A delay in ordering will mean a delay in receiving items. We will not place another group order until January.

DESCRIPTION:Primary testing for all NJMAA schools will be held on October 16th at the Kickside Montgomery location. **There WILL BE regular classes on this day\, due to the later start time for testings** \nLocation: Kickside of Montgomery (1225 State Rd\, Princeton\, NJ) \nTESTING TIMES \n\n\n\nTesting Group\nStart Time\n\n\nWhite – Sr. Yellow Belts\n12:00 pm\n\n\nGreen – Sr. Blue Belts\n1:00 pm\n\n\nBrown – Red Belts\n1:30 pm\n\n\nSr. Red/Candidates\n2:00 pm\n\n\nBlack Belts\n2:30 pm\n\n\n\nTesting times and applications are for your current rank\, not the new one. \nColored belt testing application (for White – Sr. Red Belts)\nBlack belt testing application (for all Black Belt ranks) \nTesting Procedures/Precautions: \n\nGreen belts and above must bring sparring gear to the test\nBrown belts and above must bring boards for breaking\, and get breaks approved by their chief instructor prior to the test. Breaking req. available on belt info.\nIf we believe health is compromised in any way\, student will be excused from test\n\nA list of eligible students for this testing will be posted in the lobby approximately 2 weeks prior to testing. Please find your/your child’s name on the list\, fill out and return a testing application. Brown belts and above need to list their board breaks at the bottom (and get those breaks approved by an instructor) when turning in the application. If you need a different belt size than the one listed on the testing list\, please let us know ASAP. \nStudents are required to know their belt information\, earn necessary stripes\, and attend the required minimum number of classes for their level. Please visit the belt info page for a list of all this information. \nMake-up\, semi-private (max 3 students) and private testings available (Costs: ($25\, $35\, and $50 respectively). Contact us to schedule. \nSPARRING EQUIPMENT ORDER FORM\nAll Sr. Yellow Belts must order Sparring Equipment by September 16th. All sparring gear must be ordered through Kickside Martial Arts: Hillsborough KickShop | Montgomery KickShop. Please note: due to minimum order requirements with our vendor\, students who miss the ordering deadline may need to wait until February to receive gear. \nBLACK BELT PACK: Black Kickside sparring gear sets\, embroidered HW uniforms\, and weapons may be ordered through Kickside Martial Arts: Hillsborough KickShop | Montgomery KickShop. Please note: Orders are due by September 16th. Due to minimum order requirements with our vendor\, students who miss the ordering deadline for may need to wait until February to receive gear. \nBOARD BREAKING: Brown Belts and above must supply their own boards for testing. It is recommended that you bring extra boards in case one breaks during set-up. Breaks must be approved prior to test and written in on student’s testing application. You may purchase bundles of 25 through Kickside Martial Arts: Hillsborough KickShop | Montgomery KickShop or you may visit the board breaking page for more information. \nREVISED WEEK: For the week following testing\, we run fun and technique-based classes which do not count for credit (unless students didn’t test) while students are between ranks. We also offer make-up testings on Tuesday\, October 19th. Rank Promotion Ceremony will be held on Friday\, October 22nd at Kickside of Hillsborough — there are no regular classes on this day.
